One of our exclusive services to our customers is jewellery consignment and diamond consignment. In this blog article we will talk about our service and the different aspects of it. Feel free to contact us with further queries.

The main questions this article talks about are:

1.What is the difference between selling jewellery and consignment?

2. Jewellery consignment options in singapore – if you are looking for exclusive jewellery consignment near you, this is the place for you?

3. How does the process of diamond consignment.works?

4. What kind of luxury jewellery can be consigned?

When you sell your jewellery you get on the spot payment and the deal is much faster. But the return will necessarily be lower.

Consignment is an arrangement in which goods are left with a third party to sell. It requires trust and a written contract to determine the consignment terms. Jewellery consignment or diamond consignment cons are that they take more time. On the other hand they often lead to a better cash return on the goods.

The main reason is simple – the third party is not required to take any risk and can pay you after the item is sold. So they can naturally guarantee a price in advance and the deal is cancelled if they can’t get it.

Consignment selling is a popular practice in Singapore, encompassing a range of items including second-hand bags, watches, and sometimes jewellery as well. In the realm of jewellery, auction houses are a common route, unfortunately they often come with high commissions and service fees, sometimes even for unsold items.

Typically, auction house consignment involves a set timeframe for promoting your item. However, this can limit your options as a seller. You might find a potential buyer within this period, or you might decide to withdraw the item if you change your mind. At our establishment, we adopt a more flexible approach. We do not charge any service fee for items in good condition. For items requiring repair or refurbishment, our fees are minimal, and you’ll receive your piece back in ‘as new’ condition.

Another aspect that sets us apart is our no fixed time limit policy, exceeding one week. This means you can reclaim your item at your convenience. We ensure that your item stays securely in our showroom, never leaving the premises, and is 100% insured.

Our success rate in jewellery consignment is noteworthy, and to maintain this, we are selective about the items we accept and the prices we set. Our goal is to maximise the value of your item, which may include repair, certification, and even diamond recutting. Additionally, we offer to purchase items for our stock, even if they haven’t sold during the consignment period.

In summary, our consignment process is designed to be seller-friendly, aiming to maximise your item’s value with minimal fees and flexible terms.

One of our goals as service providers is to give an array of solutions and services. To stand behind this goal we are open to Consign many categories of exclusive jewellery. As long as we think that the asked price is rational and the item can be sold. Also we check if the gap between selling and consigning justifies the process.

In our experience Consignment is normally a better option for high ticket jewellery items, super brands pieces of jewellery, certified items  and so on. Of Course we keep the right to turn down any consignment offer with or without explanation.

These are some examples of things we consign on a regular basis:

  • Loose diamonds consignment
  • Designer jewellery consignment
  • Engagement rings consignment
  • Consignment of Exclusive gems and Diamond Jewellery
  • Luxury jewellery consignment from superbrands or private jewellers.
  • Vintage gems and Diamond jewellery consignment

These are examples of  items we DO NOT consign

  • Custom jewellery
  • Silver jewellery
  • Lab grown diamonds
  • Treated diamonds .
  1. First, we schedule a meeting in our shophouse at Kreta ayer road. The meeting is held in a private room without an outside audience.
  2. The office has all the machines and tools that we need to check your jewellery and we run all the inspections of them in front of you.
  3. We go over any documentation you have. So it is important that you bring it with you. This can include brand invoice, gemological certificate and so on.
  4. After we go over your item (or items) we tell you which items we feel are appropriate for consignment and we also give a buying price to buy on the spot. After that we will Discuss the price of consignment together.
  5. If we agree on a price we go over and agree on the full terms – mainly – for how long we can keep the goods, when do we pay once sold and so on.
  6. In some cases desirable objects don’t have any certification which makes it harder to sell them. For example a 5 carat exclusive diamond without a GIA gemological cert. In this case, We can discuss sending it to the lab for documentation and only after it gets evaluated we offer a price. The certificate has a big effect on the quote.
  7. If we agree on all terms we produce a document that details all of them and sign on it together with you.
  8. If we do not agree on the price or terms we part as friends, this was a free consultation.
  9. When an item is sold we let you know and pay within the time frame of the agreement. Normally within 2 working days from the date we got the payment.
  10. If a piece of jewellery or a diamond were left in consignment but were not sold in the time frame we can cancel the agreement and return the item or extend the period. This might happen with very high value items.

That was  the basis of diamond and jewellery consignment in Singapore and with us, please let us know if you have items you are thinking of consigning or selling and we can offer free consultation.

Don’t worry we also skip sometime 🙂 So we invite you to contact us for a free consultation by a diamond and jewellery expert.
